Gerry Severson

Gerry is a native of Humboldt County on California's northern coast, an area famed for its giant redwoods.

A graduate of San Jose State University with a degree in commercial art, he began his professional career as an advertising art director in San Francisco in the early 1960s.

By the mid-sixties, Gerry had moved on to New York, where for the next 30 years he art directed advertising for a wide variety of clients at various agencies, winning many industry awards.

Now back in the Bay Area, he's free to paint the endless variety of motifs offered by the coastal California landscape he grew up in.

In addition to his academic and professional credits, he has studied landscape painting in workshops with, among others, Randall Sexton, Tim Horn and Jeanette Le Grue.
