Ruth Stanton

Ruth’s art is about nature and people, which is based on events and places she has experienced in her life.

Part of her creative process is to select images from her personal photographs that have a lasting impression on her; whether it’s the quality of light, interesting shapes, colors, strong composition or an image which tells a story.

Influenced by Impressionism and the Bay Area Figurative Movement, she considers her work primarily representational, yet at times more abstract.

Ruth has studied art at Marcy Wheeler Studio for the past 10 years, is a member of the Bay Area Studio Artists, Lamorinda Arts Alliance and has exhibited in several group/solo shows throughout the East Bay.
