For Artists
Gallery membership is open to all artists residing in San Francisco’s East Bay. To become an exhibiting gallery member, artists must go through a jurying process where their work is evaluated for its professional quality and market appeal.
Artists who wish to join Valley Art Gallery should email images of five recent works to valleyartgallery@gmail.com. Please include title, medium, dimensions, year, and price. Also include an artist statement, bio with local contact information and/or website link, if you have one. Only original art is accepted.
The jurying committee generally meets quarterly to evaluate new artists’ requests. Finalists will then be invited to present their work in person for a final evaluation at the next upcoming member show, usually early spring or fall.
If selected as an artist member of Valley Art Gallery, your annual dues will be $125. You may also be asked to volunteer in support of a specific project or for an ongoing routine task — whatever fits your interests, time, and schedule.
For Craft Artists
The review process is ongoing. Interested craft artists should email the gallery with a sample of their work along with contact information. They will be contacted by the galley’s fine crafts and jewelry coordinator.
For Volunteers
From the beginning, volunteers have been the backbone of Valley Art Gallery, participating in every aspect of the gallery’s operation. As a volunteer, you will enjoy meeting people who share similar interests and will also be part of an organization that believes art is an essential part of any community. Your involvement can be in specific projects or routine tasks throughout the year – whatever fits best into your personal schedule. Volunteers enjoy an art discount, art talks, demonstrations, and occasional museum trips.
