Wendy Liang is a Bay Area watercolor artist whose work explores place, memory, and the emotional resonance of everyday scenes.

Born and raised in China, she came to the United States as a young adult and began painting seriously later in life, when her daughter left for college. Her passion eventually led her to earn an MFA from California College of the Arts and become a professional artist and instructor.

Liang is drawn to landscapes, cityscapes, and intimate moments where light and atmosphere evoke nostalgia and longing. She values watercolor for its transparency, spontaneity, and ability to suggest rather than describe.

Her work has been exhibited in San Francisco, New York City, Michigan, and galleries throughout the Bay Area, and recognized by The Artist’s Magazine, Southwest Art, the California Watercolor Association, and Splash.

Through painting, she hopes to preserve not simply how a place looks, but how it feels to remember it.
