I paint because I want to share the joy I get from nature with people. My entire life, there has been a specific feeling I only get in a quiet morning outdoors, from the sound of wind moving through the trees, the way a storm can turn the sky in minutes, or the way dusk settles so quietly over a meadow you almost miss it. Nature is where I find peace and renewal, and through painting, I hope to bring that feeling to others.

That feeling shapes how I work. Every painting starts as a simple idea, often becoming awkward before the beauty emerges. I build my oil paintings in layers, with palette knife and brush, working and reworking the surface, sometimes letting the piece take me in a direction I didn't expect. There's a real joy in that surprise, in watching something take shape on the canvas that I couldn't have planned.
