I paint to share my deep connection with nature. There's a feeling I get from a quiet morning, or the sound of wind moving through the trees, the way a storm can change the sky in minutes, and the way dusk settles so quietly over a meadow you almost miss it. Nature is where I find peace and renewal.

My landscapes highlight that transient nature of light, capturing how it interacts with the land, water, and sky. By carefully selecting my pigments, I am able to mix an extensive range of evocative hues. This deliberate process allows me to focus on capturing the essence of a place rather than its precise details.

I build my oil paintings in layers, with palette knife and brush, working and reworking the surface, sometimes letting the piece take me in a direction I didn't expect. There's a real joy in that surprise, in watching something take shape on the canvas that I couldn't have planned. It's a meditation, a way of letting the painting direct me instead of me directing the painting.

In the end, I hope my paintings give people a place to find their own peace and renewal, a way to bring nature into their home.
