Michael J. Rizza’s woodworking journey began with building cabinetry and furniture for himself, his family, and his friends.

Inspired by his father’s talent as a well-known sculptor, he moved toward more artistic woodwork. His engineering background and his experimentation with geometric patterns led him into making end grain cutting boards, utilizing different woods species and grain patterns.

Moving into woodturning, Michael creates artistic bowls where the inherent features of exotic wood determine the aesthetic structure and shape.
