Lu Beury

The Valley Art Gallery is pleased to announce the opening of our new show, Mindscapes, which runs from January 25 through March 1, 2014. This exhibit features the distinctive paintings of Lu Beury, whose large, colorful abstract paintings evoke the natural landscapes that inspired them.

By layering paints, sand, and gesso, along with intertwining metallic forms with random streaks and shapes, Beury captures the essence of textures and the patinas of objects such as bark, chipped paint, and rusted iron. The final works exude excitement and energy, and generate a joyous response.
