Raised in an artistic family with parents who loved to paint, I became interested in art at a young age. As an adult, I studied painting with different masters, learning a variety of Asian brush painting styles. After coming to America, I discovered Western painting and ceramics, and have since pursued and developed passions for both.
Creating paintings and ceramics is a way of meditation to me. It is like performing Tai Chi, which I have practiced for many years. I deeply appreciate the meditative tradition of breathing properly, adopting the correct posture, focusing the mind, and trying to put the perfect image on a canvas or to create the form in clay. Through this meditative process, I try to convey the beauty and emotion of all living things.
