Dalia Alekna

I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting, Drawing and Printmaking and my Masters of Fine Art from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Using the knowledge and training I received there, I have applied to this day to my art.

Color and composition, which I have studied, have always been a driving force in my work. The other elements that are important when I look at a landscape are shapes, patterns, light, rhythm, and line.

These are elements which I try to translate into the emotional feeling that I try to put into my art.

Also my memories, the past and the world around me have always been a driving force in my art. Trying to connect the dots and to keep peace and beauty in my life.
